What Happens if Your Vehicle Fails Its WOF?

If your vehicle does not pass, our team will explain which areas failed and what needs to be repaired before a WOF can be issued.

Once the necessary repairs have been completed, the vehicle can be presented for a recheck. Rechecks should generally be completed within 28 days of the original inspection. If the vehicle is returned after that period, a new inspection and fee may be required.

Can I Continue Driving After a Failed WOF?

A failed WOF does not provide an additional 28 days of normal vehicle use.

If your existing WOF has expired and the vehicle fails its inspection, you generally cannot continue using it on the road. Limited exceptions may apply when the vehicle is being driven solely for the purpose of obtaining a WOF or completing the necessary repairs, provided it is safe to do so.
