""I was chosen to be apart off the Auto Super Shoppes Academy this year, from 15th January until 6th April and am glad I was. I am thrilled that I did get this opportunity for the 12 weeks that it was, learning items that I had no idea existed or very little knowledge about. I had a pleasure being a student under Rob Humpherys guidelines. I was being continuously impressed by the knowledge that he brought and shared with us over the time being. The mixture between the workshop and the theory side, didn't just show that it was just going to be paperwork each and every day but got to see how to do it hands on inside the workshop. During the year of 2017 I did the Level 3 automotive Course at NorthTec for 9 months in Whangarei and that gave me little knowledge about how the car items work and what they are, but you always had to be in pairs so when it came to the workshop, you would've had no idea what to do by yourself, whereas this course, Rob teaches you how to do it in the classroom (without any hands on just being focused on how that component works and how to fix it) then lets you, by yourself, go in the workshop and attempt it, hands on.
He'll always come and check on you, or always give you a random idea of how to do it without physically telling you how, he’ll let you do it by yourself so you can learn the hard way and let you struggle as a bit of fun but it also teaches you how to do it without asking him. The entire 12 weeks weren't all serious, we had a lot of laughs amongst the class- near enough every hour or so of a day. Rob’s teaching taught me that everything has to has a joke every now and then. Which makes it fun! It's been an incredible 12 weeks here at the Auto Super Shoppe Academy, not only have I learnt something but learnt that this is a good environment to be within. The first day I arrived at the course I was shy as I didn't know anyone. During the 12 weeks Rob actually brought me out of my shell. And now I’m not shy around most people now. It has opened so many different opportunities having both Rob as a guide and getting the opportunity to go places within the Auto Super Shoppes' shops and see the real life of what mechanics do and do a bit of hand ons in the proper workshops. Guaranteed offer of employment upon graduation has landed me a job within John Andrew Mazda in Grey Lynn. Massive step but couldn’t have done it without the support from Rob and his team! Cheers for the opportunity and the great 12 weeks!""
