Warrant of Fitness - Papakura

Every vehicle on the road in New Zealand needs to have a current warrant of fitness (the WOF) and a current certificate of registration (Rego). The Rego means your vehicle is legal to be on the road. The WOF means that, at date of issue, the vehicle has satisfied a list of over 60 factors which make it safe to be on the road. You can't renew your Rego without having a current WOF.

Both WOF and Rego have a date of issue which can easily pass the notice of the car owner, who could face a $200 fine for failing to display a current Rego or WOF. The two systems have different forms of delivery. The annual vehicle licensing system (Rego) is delivered through NZTA and the vehicle owner is sent a reminder about its potential expiry.

A Warrant of Fitness or WOF is required every six months for vehicles 6 years or older, and every 12 months for newer vehicles. We can complete a WOF inspection with your vehicle service, saving you time and money.

All Auto Super Shoppes members have fully qualified WOF inspectors. All WOF inspectors are fully experienced in vehicle mechanics and servicing. They complete regular updates and liaise with New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) on all WOF requirements.

If our WOF inspectors find any issues with your vehicle, the repair work can be completed onsite quickly and efficiently by our team of technicians. Your vehicle will then be re-inspected and a WOF issued.

What if I don't have a Rego? Come & visit us NOW! You need a WOF (safety inspection) to get your vehicle registered in NZ.

The only time you can legally drive an unregistered car is to get the car registered – such as driving directly to your inspection station or to a registry. And you must use the most direct or convenient route. Better still, get it organised before your registration expires & book in a WOF with our friendly team, who will even send you a reminder when your current warrant of fitness is ready to be renewed.

You will find Auto Super Shoppe Papakura mechanical services particularly convenient if you live or work around the following areas:

Papakura, Drury, Clevedon, Karaka, Hingaia, Ardmore, Ramarama, Bombay, Takanini, Brookby, Conifer Grove, Wattledowns, Hunua

Did you know:

It’s a good idea to combine your WOF and vehicle service, because WOF inspections do not cover all aspects of your vehicle. For example engine, clutch, gearbox and differential; lubricant levels and condition; brake pad thickness or life expectancy; and paint work condition and rust in non-structural areas are not checked in WOF inspections, but they can be checked as part of a vehicle service.
