Tyres & Wheel Alignment

We stock a range of high-quality tyres from leading brands, and carry out wheel alignments in-house. We're local to the Birkenhead, Hillcrest, Northcote, Glenfield, Birkdale, Beach Haven, and North Shore areas.

Tyres

Your family’s safety demands the best when it comes to selecting the right tyres for your vehicle. At Auto Super Shoppe Birkenhead, our mechanics are here to help you pick the best tyres for your vehicle and individual driving habits.

Tread and tyre pressure are critical when it comes to tyre safety. Tread provides traction so your vehicle can grip the road surface when braking and cornering. As for pressure, driving on under-inflated tyres will use more fuel, while over-inflated tyres will affect the wear and handling.

Legally, treads must be at least 1.5mm deep across three quarters of the tread pattern around the entire tyre. However, if you have tread depth indicators in the principal grooves then you must have at least 1.5mm tread depth in these areas. Tyre wear can affect tread depth and have a significant impact on your WOF passing, so it's always good to have a check on your tyres.

Need a service but you're worried about your tyres? No stress! All of our services come with a routine check, which includes having a look at your tyres. We will always advise you when it’s time to replace your current set of tyres before they become a liability to the safety of your car.

Wheel Alignments

Wheel Alignments are important to the handling of your car; they also improve fuel economy and extend your tyre life.

Our mechanics will align all four wheels so they are parallel to each other. This is done using the latest laser technology which produces a sensor zone around the vehicle and highlights any steering or suspension faults. The results include:

  • Improved Driver Safety
  • Improved Handling
  • Increased Fuel Efficiency
  • Extended Suspension Life
  • Minimised Tyre Wear
  • Improved Steering

Some common problems encountered when your wheels are out of alignment include steering issues (wheel is difficult to turn, car pulls to one side, vibrates) and tyre wear (uneven wear, feathering, flat spotting).

Not sure if you need an alignment? Get in touch with our friendly team today at 09 480 9272 and we'll talk you through it.
