Overview

Most cars are controlled by onboard computers, the fuel injectors, the spark plugs, the steering system and more. The computer talks to your vehicle telling it when to fire and when to move and so on. When a fault code light is highlighted on your dashboard your vehicle is warning you something is wrong as the computer senses something is out of sorts with the car’s systems e.g. “ABS Brakes” or “Check Engine.” It's at this stage you need to contact your local Auto Super Shoppe.

Be Proactive

If you discover you have a fault light or engine light code on it's telling you something is not right, so don't ignore it. Take your vehicle to a Shoppe where an appropriate scan tool is plugged into your vehicle computer (ECU). It provides information to the technician about the possible and likely causes of the fault lights. The technician will advise you about what is wrong and how it can be fixed. Sometimes these faults can be difficult to fix so it's important you get the right people on the job with the right equipment.
